The Awkward Holiday Season

i wish everybody the generic "happy holiday"
seeing as how there are a bazillion traditions.

i actually started my first legit job this past august. so this december i went through the wonderful experience of picking out holiday cards for both headquarters and the family that i work with.

it would have been all fine and dandy if they celebrated with santa and christmas trees. but no, it turns out the family i work with is jewish

(side note btw. apparently for one of the parent's birthdays, their in-laws gave them WWII memorabilia - NATZI memorabilia. response: either send it back, or BURN IT. i'm not sure which they did. personally, i would have used that crap to start a HUUUGE bonfire and toasted marshmellows)

in all honestly, i have no clue what Hanukkah actually celebrates. i only know that the families light candles and have ritualized prayers.

i'm in the card isle just standing in front of the blue Hanukkah-head section and i realized something:

IT IS FLIPPING HARD TO PICK OUT CARDS FOR A JEWISH FAMILY!!! how am i to know what's offensive or not.

...i had this suuuuper epic story - or what i thought would be one - and now it doesn't seem epic anymore.

soo, long story short: generic "happy holidays" are the best possible option when giving out cards

ANYWAYS!
Happy holidays!

.....?!?!?!?! I DON'T KNOW IF I SENT MY HEADQUARTERS A CHRISTMAS CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O.O
