icky

rainy
monday.
isn't it odd how things like this just turn the world upside down on it's head? it also doesn't help if you aren't feeling well. for this past month, i have been sick with one thing or another. first a sore throat, then sniffles, then a cold, then bronchitis, and then back to sniffles. and of course, i'm not the only one that's been feeling well.
my whole entire family
my coworkers
my students
it's hitting them the worst, because they can't necessarily handle it...as i found out today.
this poor kid wasn't feeling well. i could tell from the time he spent in my classroom and also when he was in the lunchroom. plus, he told me that he'd already gone to the nurse twice and was planning on going again.
about quarter way through lunch, the second lunch group comes in from the gym (that way they can burn off as much energy as possible before the afternoon starts) well, two students are in line waiting for their food and were bickering about who won the basketball game. apparently, this was too much for the kid who wasn't feeling so well. so he screams at them to "SHUT THE HELL UP!"
of course, that didn't go over well with the other. student #1 snaps back "i ain't doing nothing you tell me to do" or something like that. and of course, the one that's sick does the only thing they can do: throw their Capri Sun at them as hard as they can and again shouts "SHUT THE HELL UP!"
well of course the other student has to throw the Capri Sun back. that's just general fight manners. the only thing is, you actually have to hit the person who threw it first. not an innocent bystander
*cough myself cough*
my reaction: i laughed and then rushed sick student - who ended up having a fever - to the nurses room so they could lay down.
by then, all 4 behavioral staff members plus other male staff had come in between them and the fight was over.
